Expand the GMAT-ODTBX interface via the NITS architecture design and develop a simple prototype. The prototype shall utilize the NITS message-passing interface to propagate and target impulsive maneuvers from within Matlab using GMAT’s force models and differential corrector. Given a user-defined GMAT script and initial state, the prototype shall target an impulsive maneuver to achieve a desired final state. The prototype can be a stand-alone example, or combined with the closed-loop control prototype.

Task Mod 6 Subtask H was modified to target a similar prototype. The goal was to demonstrate GMAT's estimation capabilities, using NITS to access the ODTBX measurement models directly from GMAT.
This task was performed by Ravi. Significant updates to NITS were required since the original NITS code/demo was an early prototype that only worked on a particular combination of Windows, MATLAB, and GMAT. NITS was first updated to work on all Operating Systems and MATLAB versions. It was also updated to allow for immediate data transfer (as opposed to the delays inherent in the demo prototype of NITS).
NITS is now in a state fully ready for integration into GMAT and ODTBX. Ravi has started writing the GMAT plugin as of ODTBX R2014.
